Introduction

With an impressive interpretation of Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata No. 7, Zhouhui Shen earned her place in the final of the International Telekom Beethoven Competition in Bonn in 2023. The Chinese pianist, who was born in 2001, was subsequently celebrated as a “shining star” – and rightly so! After all, she has already won numerous prizes at national and international competitions, including the Juilliard Piano Concerto Competition 2022 and the International Grotrian Piano Competition 2018. In Bonn, Zhouhui Shen won third prize with Beethoven’s Second Piano Concerto. And the young pianist also performs Beethoven in her ProArte concert: in addition to his Six Bagatelles, Op. 126, the audience can look forward to works by Rachmaninov and Debussy.
