About Zhouhui

ZHOUHUI SHEN (b. 2001) received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School, where she is currently pursuing Master’s degree under the tutelage of Hung-Kuan Chen. Soon after she began her musical studies, Zhouhui was admitted to Shanghai Music Middle School (affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music), where she studied under Yunlin Yang and received the school’s scholarship for performance and academic excellence. Zhouhui has since garnered recognition in numerous national and international competitions, most recently winning third prize at the Telekom Beethoven Piano Competition Bonn. Following this achievement, she made her debut recital at Orangerie, Kirchheimbolanden, Germany, as part of the 2024 Steinway Prizewinner Concerts.

Zhouhui has performed at renowned venues worldwide, including Beethoven-Haus Concert Hall (Germany), Concert Hall of Enschede Conservatory (Netherlands), Paul Hall at Juilliard, Shanghai Conservatory Concert Hall, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall, Ningbo Grand Theatre, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Chengdu City Concert Hall, and Kunming Concert Hall. She has participated in major music festivals, such as the Beijing International Music Festival & Academy, Shanghai International Piano Festival, and Shanghai Baroque Chamber Music Festival. Additionally, she has performed in masterclasses with esteemed pianists, including Veda Kaplinsky, Matti Raekallio, Jerome Lowenthal, Robert Levin, Boris Slutsky, Pavel Gililov, Mikhail Voskresensky, Richard Goode, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Douglas Humphreys, Marc Silverman, Nicolas Namoradze, Meng-Chieh Liu, and Mingqiang Li.

Since June 2023, Zhouhui has been a certified Steinway Honorary Teacher. She has given masterclasses across multiple cities in China, with public lessons for aspiring pianists. Zhouhui's students, under her private instructions, have since won national and international awards and gained admission to prestigious conservatories, including the Eastman School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

Zhouhui Shen’s ability and talent is much beyond her appearance. Her performance of the ‘Hammerklavier’ Sonata can be compared with the best… She is a great example of the young generation of Chinese pianists.
